Well, people have been asking for a coloring tutorial for GIMP, so yesterday I spent all day making one. I apologize in advance for spelling mistakes...it was late by the time I've finished it.
There are probably better tutorials out there and I'm probably repeating things but this is just how I do it...plus I'm still learning about colorization in GIMP too. I need to read tutorials not make them! lol!
I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
My son uses GIMP, so I forwarded the link to his e-mail addy. I am sure he will drop in later to take a look. It was helpful for me too, even though I prefer Paint Shop Pro 8. I am about to pull my hair out with a digital portrait I am working on right now. It has been a nice break to stop in here and see your tutorial. It helps me feel like getting back into the thick of things with mine again.
This piece is pretty amazing to me, so I'm glad to see a tutorial for it. Pretty much how I work on things, though I've never done a digital portrait yet. Thanks for taking the time to share. I really appreciate it.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
